~KARI JOBE: FINDING GOD'S 'GARDEN' IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

"It's so intricate and detailed, but that's how God is."
~ Kari Jobe ~

Kari Jobe's latest album, "The Garden," was penned during a time of grief and questioning in the singer's life.  Kari's sister had experienced the loss of a child, and this influenced the direction of her album.

I really enjoyed watching the video below, in which Kari and Cody talk about 'the problem of pain' and about how God made himself real to them in the midst of heartache.  I could listen to these two all day--they're very relatable, yet they also have so much depth.

During minute 5:22-7:10, Kari shares about how God spoke to her in a powerful way that she could and should come to Him in her pain and questioning.  She cites from the Psalms, and I love what she says about David at a later point in the video; during minutes 21:12-24:50, she talks about how honest he was--he would "pour out his heart," but then he would "catch himself" and "start declaring truth."

During minutes 7:26-15:16 she shares the story behind the song, "The Garden," and it's such a touching (and intricate) allegory for God's superintendence over everything, including the cycles of life and death, happiness and grief.
