~NATURALLY DYED EASTER EGGS

While the colors that artificial dyes (i.e. food coloring) produce on Easter eggs are delightful, the hues of natural dyes have their own unique beauty.

These dyes can be made with tea (green, black, and herbal), coffee, wine, fruits and veggies (including their skins), plants, flowers, herbs, and spices.

Pictured above are eggs that were dyed by yummy mummy kitchen.  She decided to cheat a bit and use food coloring in order to achieve the blue hue.  It's worth noting that brown eggs were used; I wonder if some of the dyes would have worked even better on white ones.

Cooking Light's naturally dyed eggs have a little extra pizazz--they have an imprint of an herb leaf on them!...

*I'd assume you'd be able to use stickers, rubber bands, lace, wax (crayons), etc. to create patterns and shapes on eggs colored with natural dyes, just as you can with those colored with artificial ones.  The possibilities are endless! ☺.
