~FAR-FLUNG FRESHWATER PEARLS

"Each one of them is Jesus in disguise."

While my mind is on those who travel afar in serving the Lord, I must post this photograph which was taken by an acquaintance of mine while on a missions-related trip in India.  These two men are stringing/hand-knotting freshwater pearls (a favorite of Darting Sparrow Designs) which are imported from China and then sold as jewelry.

I have recently been surprised to learn that a greater percentage of India's population is Christian than Buddhist and that less than 1% of its population is Buddhist; I had thought that Buddhism was much more prevalent there.  I also hadn't realized how prevalent Islam is in India, in that its Muslim population is the third largest in the world.  This might have something to do with the fact that India is the second highest populated country in the world.

~ ~ ~

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
