~BFF

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have
overcome the world."
~ John 16:33 ~

A while back I posted the above book in the book section that runs down the left-hand side of my blog.  In the process of doing so, I typed the title of the book into the designated field in the little form that's supplied, but I typo-ed it.

What I inadvertently typed made me stop in my tracks for a second, especially considering the sort of afflicted state of mind I was in at the time, as those things can go.

This book has such a pretty and soft cover design, and the title is very sweet and inviting.

Yet, I didn't type its sweet and inviting title, Best Friends with God, into the field.

What I typed was this:

Beast Friends with God

This flub spoke to me on a very deep level, as it's sometimes necessary to #beastmode-it with God, and sometimes falling flower petals are just annoying (and maybe even downright repugnant) to your spirit.

That being said, I'm sure this book is probably wonderful, and one shouldn't judge a book by its [perfectly suitable and attractive] cover--or title.  I'm simply recounting #alittlemoment I experienced.

#besties?
#beasties.

And just because I sometimes think about this little section in my Jesus Calling notebook, here is a snapshot of my list of all of the entries that address the importance of not just persevering through troubles, but of actually being thankful for them.

Easier said than done?
I know, I know.

~A SPRINKLE FOR MY SISTER

A friend of my sister's hosted a "sprinkle" for her, as she's expecting her second child very soon!  I thought I would post pics of this event since thoughtful and creative things were done by everyone, and the hostess's house looked so cute.

Gigi's Cupcakes = yummytummytime.

A game was played whereby each guest cut off a piece of ribbon, estimating the length that would wrap around my sister's belly.  Wrapping the ribbon around one's own belly while measuring was against the rules!  I actually won this game, probably because I'm around my sis quite often and have had plenty of time to look her over ☺

omg. the tiniest blue jean skirt ieverdidsee.

I spotted this "It's a Girl!" glass at a party supply shop, and my mom did the most adorable floral arrangement inside.  She also had me paint a sun on it, and I used water-based acrylic paint, which didn't cover very well.  Plus, when condensation formed on the glass when I took it outside to photograph it, I wiped it off and accidentally wiped off a few of the sun rays and had to repaint them.  So a different type of paint would be better for something like this.
