~HAPPY BDAY SWEETS

I have a summer birthday and recently sampled some sugary and festive things...

First up?  Bday cake-flavored gum!  This chewy treat is really tasty and has a definitive cake-like flavor, as opposed to a generic sweetness.  Its creamy note is very noticeable, though I wish it had more of a buttery/yellow-cake-box-mix element as well.

Next up?  Fun-filled cookies of a certain type!  These are scrumptious, and the frosting tastes, well, just like white cake icing.  *Aren't the little colorful speckles/sprinkles in it cute?

Here's to satisfying my sweet tooth in honor of my special day!

~MINTY MANICURES

This summer I purchased two nail polishes in a hue that's pretty hard to resist: mint!

Salt Water is a special shade that was a collaboration between Picture Polish and a nail artist named Gianna (Nailstorming). It has been described as being turquoise, and though it might have much more blue in it than some mint polishes, such as Essie Mint Candy Apple, I consider it to be mint.  It is such a lovely color, and it contains a scattering of gold holo that's meant to mimic the sun's glint on the surface of the sea.  *Picture Polish polishes are 5-free.

Mint2BCool by Sinful Colors is also a sweet shade, and it contains very subtle sky-blue shimmer/micro-glitter.  Though this brand's name is unfortunate (lololol☺), the quality is super, and you can't beat the price--only $1.99 to 2.99!
*These polishes are 3-free.

Picture Polish is an Australian company, and you'll get a better deal on shipping by purchasing their products from Live Love Polish or Color4Nails rather than from their own website.

Another polish of theirs is currently on my wish list..
wink-wink ;)

I picked up my Sinful Colors at Walgreens, and I've heard this brand is also carried at Walmart and Target (though my local branches don't have them).  They can also be ordered online at drugstore.comwalgreens.com, and walmart.com (possibly with free shipping to your local store--it depends on the item).  I can't figure out what's going on with target.com's selection; I tried to pull them up, but there's no link to add them to a cart.

*After publishing this post, I spotted a Sinful Colors polish at the store called "Minty Fresh," and it's very pretty too--it might even be more similar on the nail to Salt Water than Mint2BCool.  I've decided Salt Water is actually right on the line where green meets blue (which is a shade Gianna loves).
